Southeast Community College and Lincoln Public Schools - The Career Academy

The Career Academy (TCA) was a joint venture between Southeast Community College and Lincoln Public Schools.  Designed to engage local high school seniors and juniors into technical skills based careers.   

The new facility included precast walls and roof structure with brick veneer and copper cladding to match the existing facility on the campus, a Geothermal mechanical system, and an open clerestory atrium.

Every project has challenges and under normal circumstances it is often possible to overcome delays in materials or weather delays by augmenting or supplementing subcontractor labor.  The confluence of the delays and labor shortage during the construction of TCA required an enormous amount of coordination and communication with the entire team as well as an unwavering commitment to do whatever was necessary which allowed TCA to hold class as scheduled.
